Learning to use the Freestylist
The Freestylist is engineered to support the weight of the dryer the whole time you're using it. As with most things in life everyone has their own creative ways of using a tool. It is important to understand the basics to quickly utlitize the benefits the Freestylist has to offer.

Preliminary adjustments to the Freestylist
• Adjust the resting height so the dryer's handle is 2 to 4 inches above your head.
• Adjust the dryer's tension so it floats down slowly when you let go of it at chest height.

Proper use of the Freestylist
• Let the cord hold the dryer's weight while using it.
• For proper ergonomics, keep your wrist straight. You may want to hold the dryer by the nozzle in certain cases.
• Whenever you want to stop drying for a minute to section hair, lift the dryer up to its resting position. The dryer will turn off. You can talk to your client and save energy.
• Hold the dryer with a loose grip.
• If using a diffuser and pointing the dryer up, put the dryer's cord under your elbow and point the dryer up. In this particular time the Freestylist does not support the weight of the dryer.

Break-in period
The Freestylist requres an adjustment and change of habits. Your stylists have been drying hair their whole career by dragging a cord around and supporting the weight of the dryer. Now you're asking them to change, no more cords and no more weight. It typically takes people from 1 to 3 weeks to change their habits and get used to the Freestylist. The normal break-in period happens like this:
• The first week of use, your stylists are holding the dryer with a tight grip and fighting the system. Some will complain that they don't like this at all.
• By the second week, most of your staff learn to work with the system and they stop holding the dryer tightly. They now are pointing the dryer without fighting it. They start to change their habits.
• By week three, drying hair with the system is becoming second nature. They really like it now.
• By the 7th week your stylist will not want to dry hair without the Freestylist. Big change.
